White Denim

How to style white denim

This may be an unpopular opinion but I have always loved white jeans.  They make a comeback every few years and this summer is definitely one of them.  White jeans have certainly come a long way.  They are thicker for starters so that’s a win.  Honestly, who wants skintight wight jeans?  Not me. They also come in so many different styles you are bound to find one that works for you.

I enjoy styling white jeans in the summer.  They add such a breezy vibe to any look.  They can be worn so many ways from casual to more dressed up. Most restaurants are up to date with current fashion trends which means they are more accepting with their dress code. So ripped jeans aren’t as taboo as they once were.  The jeans I’m wearing can be paired with sandals, sneakers or heels for an edgy meets classy look.  I am on the cusp of what’s considered petite sizing.  I’m just under 5’4 for reference.  I will get petite length if I know I don’t want to wear heels but it also depends on the style. Because with skinny jeans I can get petite length and still wear heels but with bootcut or flare jeans I will get regular length as I want to style them with heels.  Jeans are a complicated beast. I also enjoy white denim shorts. Have you tried the white denim trend? If not, what are you waiting for? I’ve linked the ones I’m wearing as well as some other style options here. A modern Take on a Classic

How to style a white button down.

The white button down shirt is one of the most underrated pieces of fashion. I’ll admit, growing up it wasn’t the shirt I reached for the most when looking in my closet. Over the years I’ve learned that the make or break components to a great button down shirt are fabric and fit. Lets face it, if you’re wearing a piece of uncomfortable clothing are you going to reach for that bad boy in the future? Believe me, I am all about pairing affordable and splurge worthy finds. However, when it comes to a white button down i’m investing in a few good quality ones. I’m not saying you have to spend a small fortune but quality over quantity most certainly applies in this case.

There’s something about a collared shirt that adds a sense of sophistication and polish to any look. I automatically feel like I’m elevating my style when I throw one on. Can we talk about how versatile they are? One of my favorite ways to style is half tucked in with joggers and sneakers. They are the absolute best layering pieces. I love to pop one under a sweater. Leave the sleeves unbuttoned for a more casual look. Wearing one unbuttoned over a silk slip dress is another great option. In the summer a light weight boyfriend button down can be worn as a cover-up. I love to belt an oversized button down and wear it with over the knee boots. You can’t go wrong with a pair of tailored denim, it’s always a classic look. You never know the places a white button down can take you. I’ve linked the one I’m wearing as well as a few others here.

Let’s talk Skinny Jeans

Let’s talk skinny jeans

Ok, let’s talk the skinny…skinny jeans that is.  Having short legs makes me a big fan of them. Plus hemming jeans is just well annoying.  Who has time for that?  However, I vowed this year I would learn how.  I feel like it’s a good skill to possess.  You know like knowing how to change a tire…which I also have no idea how to do.  I should start compiling a list…

Most of my favorite skinny jeans come in petite length and in the word’s of Goldie…they are just right!  Don’t worry all my long legged friends most also come in “long”.  The real game changer though is when skinny jeans became high waisted.  I feel like that’s when everyones dreams came true.  Ah it’s the little things.  High waisted skinny jeans give the appearance of even longer leaner legs.  Especially paired with a cropped shirt and a shoe with a little height.

When looking for jeans I want a pair that’s going to last me for years. Let’s be honest, shopping for jeans isn’t a favorite. I’m sharing some of the jeans I really like and have lasted long with many wears. So pull up a seat and prepare to slide into your new favorite skinny jeans.

I’ve linked a few of my favorites here.
